Laurent
Bannock is a clinical and sports nutritionist with an international
reputation. Originally from the UK, Laurent now lives in beautiful
Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Currently,
Laurent works with clients all around the world – specializing in
creating laboratory-guided and evidenced-based nutrition and wellness
programs for people from all walks of life.
Initial
undergraduate education was at Farnborough College of Technology
(Farnborough, UK) in the Science and Management of Exercise &
Health. Graduate & post-graduate education includes a Master of
Science in Nutrition and a Diploma in Sports Nutrition from Huntington
College of Health Sciences (Knoxville, TN, USA), an Advanced Diploma in
Exercise and Health Studies from City University (London, UK), and
currently a Post Master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health
Promotion at California University of PA (California, PA, USA). Laurent
is also one of only a handful of candidates in the world to be accepted
into the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) 2-year post-graduate
diploma program in sports & Exercise Nutrition - starting in
January 2009.
Professional
memberships and certifications include the American College of Sports
Medicine, The American College of Nutrition, The National Academy of
Sports Medicine and the American Council on Exercise.
He
has been the concept creator and expert host of several television
programs – including ‘Why Weight’ on Channel 4 (UK TV), and the
successful Discovery Health Channel (UK) series ‘Fat Academy’.
Publications
include ‘The Clinical Nutrition Desk Reference’ (Outskirts Press,
Denver), and ‘Functional and Clinical Assessment for Nutrition
Professionals (HCHS College Press).
Laurent
is also an Adjunct Professor at Huntington College of Health Sciences,
teaching courses to undergraduate and graduate students in clinical
nutrition and functional medicine.
